Feedback. Is Anyone Listening?
Monday, July 30, 2007
Do you have a fear of public
speaking?
Wow.
Me too.
I imagine the audience naked.
But then if there is some hot women there, uh..... I remember I am married to a totally hot gym rat (smile) and she is awesome!
Now.

[ANN] Plagerism or Flattery? [repost]

[Seems like there was a system hiccup
-- I am reposting this for those who may not have seen
it....]
Last week I found our cartoons being used elsewhere on the web. Totally ripped off and edited using photoshop to replace some of the original wording.
Creative as it may have seemed, wow... it was like getting hit in the gut because our work was being represented as being done by someone else.
And Tony (the artist for the site) and I decided to play nice.
Remember one one the tenants of Scrum:
Assume positive intent. I teach this to people learning how to become a ScrumMaster or work or a Scrum Team.
Instead of throwing lawyers at the "problem" -- as a lot of people do these days.
It turns out that the person who put up the blog (with the pics changed) had no idea this had made it out into the public web. What started as a small joke caught on in his organization and well, things got out of hand.
While copyright issues can be tough, we were able to work it out with the blogger and all is good. He even created some nice public apologies.
And, we decided that it was time to post more detailed copyright information about our site -- which explains what can and cannot be done with the material.
If you are interested in our policy, you can see more about the creative commons license we are using. Please contact me if you have any questions about this, as both Tony and I feel it is fair to all.
If you are interested in a thread about what occurred, and comments it generated, check out this link at Tony's site.
Hope this clears things up for people... as we have learned, the word about our site is getting out (and this is a great thing... thank you to all our readers).

Reality TV never really seems like
reality to me. Not like I get to hang with Paris Hilton -- in or
out of jail (smile).
And Scrum seems to never work in all situations for me.
Reality check.
So what?
