Does your Scrum Team room look like the cartoon above at night or are you continuing to do too much (forgetting to say “NO”)? Or worse, are you starting many things and finishing none of them?
Thanks for taking a few minutes of your time to read this blog posting at ImplementingScrum.com.
Yes. It’s been awhile since I’ve posted out here… this does not mean I’ve been ignoring you.
Actually it’s quite the opposite!
My name is Michael Vizdos and I created this site almost ten years ago to help people figure out how to Implement Scrum in the Real World. You may see me writing or hear me speaking around the world about this idea of, “Focus. #deliver”.
Instead of just writing and talking about HOW to do this, I’ve been pretty heads down lately in actually DOING what I write and talk about.
I want to take a moment to encourage YOU to DO the same thing.
It requires you to set [possibly new] boundaries and say a solid, “NO.”
Examples from ME
Private Client Work
I spend a bit of time working with clients around the world training, coaching, and mentoring people involved with either transitioning to agile techniques or helping them up their games so they can Focus and #deliver. You can learn more at www.michaelvizdos.com/services.
Public Certified Scrum and Agile Training
Instead of flying from city-to-city around the world (yep… it was fun but took a huge toll on me in many ways — live and learn!). I still do very limited public Certified Scrum Trainings in my home town of Richmond, Virginia and down in Costa Rica.

The Business (our company — my real world job)
Our [small] team at Vizdos Enterprises, LLC uses these techniques daily to Focus and #deliver. I have also setup a local office in Richmond, Virginia and if you are around let me know and we can connect there (or buy me a coffee or ???).

I’ve been spending time volunteering with bringing Scrum to schools (in the classroom with students, for teachers, and at the administrative and operational levels). Start early. You can do it too if you are interested. I also co-founded a non-profit purely volunteer organization for entrepreneurs and creative people in my local community.

The person who has taken the time to allow me into their inbox has made a commitment to me. It’s a commitment I do not take lightly.
The person who subscribes to receive my e-mail updates get my best work FREE.

WIIFM (What’s it for me — Actually YOU!)?
While there is a ton of great content out here (check out www.implementingscrum.com/2015/04/21/11-tips-for-a-successful-scrum-implementation and www.implementingscrum.com/2015/03/02/holy-crap-i-have-to-do-this because WOW).
There is FREE gold in the public postings just for you (almost ten years when this post was published).
My Challenge to YOU
Does it look like I am doing a lot of stuff? Perhaps… and do you see a pattern of me helping others to Focus and #deliver while doing that personally???
OK. I hope you recognize that I am eating my own dog food (is that too Americanized as a saying or does this make more sense — “Practice what I preach”?!?).
Let me ask you a few questions.
What are YOU doing in order to Focus and #deliver?
What impact would it have on your life to Focus and #deliver?
Is there just ONE THING? [why not?!?!?]
What can I do to help YOU focus and #deliver?
Join me. Or keep lurking and reading (I appreciate your time!).
